‘University of Life’ Qualifications
Many clients in the past have said to me “How can you understand my situation if you have not been there”. Or similar comments.
Well! I may not have experienced what they are going through but I will have a very good idea of what it is. All the incidents below have presented me with every negative human emotion going, except murder. However; I have taught myself to let go of anything I do not need and only hold onto the good stuff. This has allowed me to Flourish in life.
Trauma: run over as a child; severe head injuries – poor coordination and rubbish at maths.
Trauma: shot deliberately by arrow in left eye by local bully; blind in that eye plus some more brain damage.
Trauma: raped, early teens – 10 times over 10 weeks by a friends mother. This also included beatings and perverted sex acts.
Bullying: due to blind eye; including being kicked – broken rib; at school excluded from sports as I could not see moving balls and poor coordination.
Bullying: on own and as a family – my sister was disabled, my father had only one leg. People used to call us the Addams Family.
Addiction: smoking 20 per day – quit.
Phobia: horses – one killed my grandfather and one bit off my girlfriends ear and ate it while I was there.
Others: divorced; bereavement – parents, sister and second wife (to cancer); in total I have nearly died 7 times; got diabetes type 2; saw my son being stillborn, etc.
Every one of these things has been sorted in quick time – I had to shift them or sink. I did not sink I FLOURISHED and LOVELIFE.
